Kurt Justin is an activist, writer and musician who has lived in West Philly for the past two decades. His feature stories and opinion pieces have appeared in numerous publications, including The Philadelphia Inquirer, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and The Denver Post. He spent 20 years working in the movement to end the death penalty, most recently as director of a national organization focused on telling the stories of exonerated former death-row prisoners. He also has worked in the anti-gun violence movement, on animal-rights issues, and on behalf of homeless human beings in Philadelphia, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
