DEAR FRIENDS:
Thomas Paine was a pamphleteer from Philadelphia who changed the world.
We think we can do it again.
Root Quarterly: Art & Ideas from Philadelphia is a pioneer of Regenerative Media. Since 2019, our award-winning, quarterly print journal has been proof positive that people across the country are looking for more deeply human, real-world experiences that connect them in a hopeful way to themselves, their neighbors, and a more beautiful future.
Our robust, art-filled journal is the center of our work, which also includes educational and celebratory events, field trips, and art pop-ups, all with regional and national partners. We’re regionally-rooted—with growing national influence.
We’re using humanities as a bridge-building endeavor: We’re changing culture by centering beauty, hope, and humanity, and investing in viewpoint diversity, political depolarization, pluralism, and constructive dialogue.
We’re poised for investment and driving toward operational sustainability within the next five years. As a fiscally-sponsored project of CultureTrust Greater Philadelphia, a charitable organization, we can receive tax-deductible contributions and grants that augment our earned income.
With the support of our volunteers and donors, our board of advisors, and our larger community, we’re hoping to have a transformational year in 2025. If you’re interested in seeing our full plans, please be in touch to receive more information or to schedule a conversation.
